Wandering becomes a problem due to many conditions, including dementia. There are many reasons your loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia may wander. Poor sleep, getting up at night to get a glass of water or certain noises or activity any time during the day may be the triggers for wandering. Though it can be very frightening to discover your loved on has wandered off, there are steps you can take to reduce the tendency for wandering.
